Music projects from 2016 (and beyond)

Feeling too lazy to translate in Finnish this time. (Laiskottaa liikaa suomentaa tällä kertaa.)

Here are two songs from different projects from last year. Encounters is an ambient mix from Mod_. I’ve planned to make an ambient version album of that. Enslavement represents my goal to record some technical prog metal. I’ve got some ambitious compositions which still require a lot of training to play them properly. So it might take a long time to get ’em recorded. There’s also some sort of “randomcore” project. I’ve recorded many songs for that in 2015 and before. It just takes still time to polish and finish the rest… (Oh, I wish Soundcloud would still have the smaller handy embedding for WordPress than it has nowadays…)

The Lesson That Left the Scars (demo)

Tämä on rekonstruoitu versio kappaleesta, jota aloitin säveltämään MIDIksi jossain 2008 paikkeilla. Pianolla alun perin sävelletyt keskikohdan osat tuli sävellettyä parina seuraavana vuonna. Sen jälkeen en ole pahemmin koko kappaleeseen koskenut, mutta päätin nyt ohjelmoida MIDIn melkein valmiiksi ja äänittää sen jonkinlaisten saundien kera. (Soitin koskettimilla myös improvisoiudun “kitarasoolon”…) Kappale on edelleen työn alla. Se oli tarkoitettu alun perin Needless Trilogy projektiin entisen bändin radioTrodonin kanssa ja varmaan muuttunee vielä joskus jatkossa…
This is reconstructed version of song I started to compose in MIDI around 2008. Middle parts of the song were composed with piano next couple of years. After that I’ve never touched this song but now I decided to program the MIDI almost finished and record it with decent sounds. (I also played the improvised “guitar solo”…) The song is still in progress. It was meant to be in Needless Trilogy project with my former band radioTrodon and it will likely change some day…

Octabitium

Nyt se on ulkona! Ensimmäinen virallinen julkaisu AeroMoonsilta (entinen ExAMone). Se on Parus Aero ja Moons of Jupiter sooloprojektien yhdistelmä. Muitakin kipaleita on jossain, mutta progressiivinen kasibittirock-albumi on varmaan ihan hyvä alku kaiken kaikkiaan. Lisätietoa ja itse albumi löytynee vanhasta kunnon bandcampista.

Now it’s out! The first official release of AeroMoons (formerly ExAMone). It’s a combination of solo projects by Parus Aero and Moons of Jupiter. There’s other songs around as well but a progressive chiptune rock album is a good way to start it once and for all. Additional information and the album itself can be found on good olde bandcamp.

New Vision (AXiS-49)

Tämä on ensimmäinen koko sävellys soitettuna AXiS-49:llä. Sen voi kuulla Mod_ -albumilla. Kuvakulma ei ole kovin kiva, mutta olkoon.

This is the first whole composition played with AXiS-49. It can be heared in the Mod_ -album. Angle isn’t good but whatever.

Rain Before the Morning

Moons of Jupiter & Parus Aero live

27.4.2013 meillä oli keikka Monari live -tapahtumassa. Olimme tavallaan illan pääesiintyjän, Junon, lämppärinä. Tämä oli myös ensimmäinen keikka, jossa tallensimme kuvan ja äänen erikseen eri laitteilla, mikä oli sen arvoista. Kiitokset Villelle ja Lazulle tämän tehtävän hoitamisesta. Pienen editoinnin jälkeen Neolavolalla on nyt upattuna video, jossa äänenlaatu on parempi kuin missään aikaisemmassa Neolavolan livevideossa.

27.4.2013 we had a gig in Monari live -happening. We were kinda support band for the evening’s head artist, Juno. This was also the first gig where we recorded audio and the video separately with different devices and it was worth it. Thanks to Ville and Lazu for taking care of this task. After a little editing Neolavola has now an uploaded video where the audio have better quality than ever before in Neolavola’s live videos.

Satellites

Uusi sivu kääntyy nyt vaihteeksi Neolavolan suhteen. Moons of Jupiter julkaisee demonsa “Rain Before the Morning” piakkoin. Sitä ennen yksi biisi on saatu julkaistua. Kappaleessa “Satellites” oma osani oli tehdä sävellykseen bassokuviot ja soittaa ne äänitteeseen. Myös lopullisen masteroinnin tein.

New page turns with Neolavola. Moons of Jupiter publishes its demo “Rain Before the Morning” soon. Before that one song got published. In the song “Satellites” my part was to make basslines to the composition and play them to the recording. I also did the final mastering.

Tämä kahdesta osasta koostuva kappale on D-Daysin pisin pitkäsoitto, jossa mm. tuli leikittyä Lazun kitaralla.

This two-part song is the longest record of D-Days and for example playing with Lazu’s guitar was also involved.
